Hello, all of you Lurkers ;)
First of all, I'm glad you're here, and I'm glad that you're interested in Fire Performance and/or Juggling.
*Big hug.*
But.. You should know... STP is evolving, and things are going to change pretty rapidly around here.
Don't anyone take this too personally, but in a couple of weeks from now, I'm going to give you all the boot - I will be dropping everyone from the Tribe, so we can start fresh and determine genuine interest in the Performance Arts (or, the Art of Performance.. you choose).
ALL of you are welcome to come back, and ALL join requests will be accepted, so this isn't about "getting rid" of anyone - but at this point, I'm interested in taking the group in a direction that is going to draw a great deal more from those who are involved in it... and giving LOTS back, as well. If you do choose to return, however, you need to be willing to commit some time to bettering yourself and your art.
The Pyros will shortly be turning into a for-profit organization, that is, a business. Our business will be to do exactly what we love to do - Perform - and to get paid for doing it; We'll be teaching both Beginner and Advanced courses in both Poi and Juggling (more to come), at reasonable fees, to all comers.
Because one person can only hold a limited amount of information, we are actively seeking out others who enjoy performing, and would like to take part in this venture - if you think you've got what it takes to teach, please get in touch!
There's always a "Why?", so I'd like to specifically address this here. I love to perform, and I'm always hearing people say "Man, I wish I could do that." - so I've decided to show those people what to do :)
STP will always have a no-cost component to it, and is currently offering Free juggling and poi courses to any who show up - same day as the practice sessions.

Addendum
Thu, July 5, 2007 - 6:58 PMIf you do decide not to continue to participate in STP after the mass kick, we will miss you much! But, you may decide "Hey, this guy is mean, and he smells bad - I'm out!"... so if you do, and you have pictures in the group that you'd like me to remove, please feel free to email me. -

Last Note
Mon, July 9, 2007 - 8:04 PMAt least, I hope, given that I'm the only one discussing this ;)
If you ARE interested in getting a little more active in fire, and would prefer not to go through a re-joining process, please step up in this thread. I'm creating a NoKick list (on a sticky note, even) for new folks (e.g. today and forward) and anyone else who'd like to be included.
Anybody out there? -

Re: Last Note
Mon, July 16, 2007 - 4:36 PMI dont see why you have to destroy the tribe to create a new direction for your group. Simply stating it is probably enough.
On another note I am interested in coming to your practices.( I feel as though I have been saying this for a while now) But seriously the only problem is I forget when and where they take place or if the location and times change, also I have moved myself now and have very little internet access. So Adam if I pm you my number would you be so kind as to call when the practices will happen. It would be greatly appreciated. I am involved in other practice groups on Tues and Thurs so hopefully it isnt on one of those days.
I am definitely interested in giving lessons for profit, maybe we could discuss it futher in person. -

Re: Last Note
Wed, July 18, 2007 - 10:10 AMI see where you're coming from, Mia, and I'd like to clarify that this isn't an attempt to destroy the tribe, per se. Basically, we've got a lot of Lurkers (hi, there!) who've joined, but who aren't posting, responding, showing up for practice, etc. The goal here is more to prod folks into giving me an idea of how interested they are in performing/learning/teaching.
I'll add you to the nokick list so you won't have to worry about the upcoming bounce, and for anyone else listening, please either respond to this post or email me at adamdwells at gmail dot comm.
Practices have gotten a little fluid, because I've been trying to make accommodations based on feedback from those who've expressed interest - so don't feel bad about not making it out. Lacking a significant response on the Practice Days topic, and with the limited turnout on Sundays, I'm going to be moving the practice back to Saturdays, but a little later in the day - probably around 3 or 4pm.
Definitely fire out that email with your number - I'll do my best to keep everyone informed and involved.
I hope this clears things up a little for you, and anyone else reading - I don't want to leave anyone feeling they're not welcome, I just want to raise the bar a little and get those who are still around into a more professional mindset with regards to the Tribe, and our potential as a business.

Mon, August 6, 2007 - 1:45 PMshit missed again had friend out from Bay didnt want to drag her around to all of the practices ya know. But Sundays are way better than Sat for me. How many people are showing up? Also it is wicked hot out there during the day!! Is there anyway to move it to dusk? I would definitely crawl out of my air-conditioned cave when the sun isnt quite as high in the sky. I sent you a pm with my number in it so please call next time as I am not around a computer all that often, maybe once every 2 weeks. Thanks

Re: Last Note
Thu, September 13, 2007 - 1:28 PMI'm interested in learning. I'm totally a beginner and have sort of felt weird to show up where other people already have their shit going on. Don't mind paying for classes and what not. -

Re: Last Note
Fri, October 12, 2007 - 9:20 AMHi there :D
No cost for our classes, just a matter of figuring out what works best for all involved.. when works for you?
I'm considering moving our planned get-together to Monday nights, since I now work on Saturdays.. which sucks, and may change in the future, but not anytime soon.
Any input on Monday? Anyone? McFly? ;)
